I would argue none of his movies were any good. You just originally saw the movie when you were the right age for his sophomoric humor and therefore it's nostalgic for you. Similar to how kids of the 70s revere Star Wars, but when kids of today see the original movie they don't consider it the greatest movie of all time. There is this sweet spot I believe where age plays a huge part in how great you think a movie is.

I believe this is the first time the words Adam Sandler and evolution were used in the same sentence.

Solid article. I think that it was a stretch for him to continue his sophomoric movies. He like many has gotten older and has a family so you had to know he go into the family movie genre. That's why while it wasn't great I did enjoy that's my boy as for 1 film he went back to his crude humor days. The trio of Larry and Chuck, Zohan and jack and Jill was awful. I think this new film is going to bomb too.

Agreed, wouldn't cross the street to see one of his films, but I do like his Hanukkah song. And this one...

This is so wrong. Those early movies were great. Shame on you....

The early ones were great stuff. For me, Happy Gilmore is like Caddyshack or Major League. I don't go a round of golf without making at least one reference to Happy Gilmore and Caddyshack, just like there's always a ML reference when I'm on a diamond.

For the record, I'm 24.
