Boxelder bugs out of control.

Last 2 days the boxelder bug juvenilles have been taking over the outside of my house. Litterally thousands upon thousands have been getting in huge piles on the ground but especially the foundation of my house. Been dousing them with dish soap and hot water and it does kill them but they just keep coming back from who knows where and pile up again in 4-6 hours. Anyone have any good solutions or sprays for these things ? I fear they will be all over in my house eventually.

...is your house by chance a Bob Shetler campground restroom? Uncanny resemblance.

It looks like that all the products that specifically kill boxelder and Asian beetle products contain "deltamethrin." Try looking for that in a concentrated dose. The catch-all bug barriers don't seem to contain that which is why you may be seeing those F'ers all over the place.

My parents house growing up was always covered with them. I remember going out in the yard with a tennis racket and cutting those things in half. Kill them now before they start flying all over you.

When I lived in Iowa I used to have the same problem on sunny days in the cool weather. I sprayed a lot of dish washing liquid on them. For every one you kill it seems two more take it's place. Now I get a few but not the whole side of the house covered.

Democrat Bugs. Come out every fall and are hard to get rid of

Told to me by my very Democrat grandmother who didn’t vote for her own son because he was on the ballot as a Republican

She was kind. She should have disowned him.

Anyway, there was a summer when I was living in Ames in which those bugs got out of control like that, and totally covered the house I was living in. Strangely enough, I have never, ever seen this happen in the Omaha area, in the 30+ years I have lived in this area (off and on).

Tempo SC Ultra is what did the fix for me . Avaliable at most farm stores , spendy but kills the daylights out of them . Kills many other bugs too ! Not sure about the asian beetles though .

Running them over with a car seems like a solid option.

They are very fond of the cedar siding & brick we have on our exterior. They love the south facing walls of the red brick buildings on campus too.
