Going. Not my desired bowl or opponent but team deserves some support because I think a lot will skip it.

Considered staying at the Pyramid but opted for Canopy downtown.
That is where I am booked as well.

No, not in the sense of literally playing an opponent in their home stadium, but playing someone three hours from their home wouldn't be exciting then or today.
Well in that case, playing Alabama in the Independence bowl would qualify. Did that one do anything for ya?

If you're worried about a small private school playing 3 hours from home then you can't complain about not drawing an SEC school in the Liberty Bowl.

Playoff committee: SEC is obviously the top conference, top to bottom, we can’t leave out their champion

SEC: fails to qualify enough 6-win teams for their bowl tie-ins
The problem is all of the SEC teams that made the NY6 bowls. The distribution of these bowls also add to the $ imbalance on top of the conference media deal payouts (which will be even more important when we move to 12 playoff teams).

Big XII: 9 of 14 teams bowl eligible; 1 CFP + 0 NY6
SEC: 9 of 14 teams bowl eligible; 1 CFP + 3 NY6
Big 10: 8 of 14 teams bowl eligible; 1 CFP + 2 NY6
ACC: 11 of 14 teams bowl eligible; 0 CFP + 1 NY6
Pac 12: 8 of 12 teams bowl eligible; 1 CFP + 1 NY6

Let’s create ISU sponsored bowls in Cancun! Proceeds back to we will and AD. We can do 3 games each year, two in December and try for one in January. Who looses?

Road music:

(approximate transcription of lyrics after the scat)

I got a crazy symptom, gonna head a right down y'all
Straight to Memphis
Rock, roll, rippin' rhythm,
Blue suede shoes, y'all straight in Memphis

Red chest, high-heeled sneakers
Watch out, Daddy, I'm a mean mistreater
Take care, up my business,
Fast train, y'all straight down to Memphis

Hep, hep, Mama...gimme some

Flim, Flam what? What a long ride!
Flip flop hot dog, don't I feel fine
If you dig that real, Miss,
Come on, y'all now on straight to Memphis

50 cents Honey now in my pocket
A crazy man crazy where the joint is rockin'
Smack home, Baby, but ya gotta promise
We'll take the next train straight to Memphis

Hep hep mama gimme some

Well, wham bam, Thank you, ma'am Kinda greens, lima beans and a country ham
A night-club honey in a Mai-Tai dress
Dreamin' the blues down in Memphis
Back home
Four pence (?) just a little worried
Can't talk to you, Honey, 'cuz I'm in a hurry
My teddy bear, are ya missin' my kisses
Take the next plane straight to Memphis

Well, ya gotta promise,
We'll take the last train straight to Memphis

Hot stuff!
Wop bop rip it up
Hey, hey, hey, hey

The opponent isn't exciting but if you're wanting to go to a bowl game this is still a good destination. And it will be a good game day atmosphere, like it was the last time.

You want a better bowl? Don't lose to Ohio and/or Kansas.
You mean like KU “getting” to play ******* UNLV?

It’s the opponent. That’s just bad luck given this should be a Big 12 vs SEC matchup, and for the second consecutive time we play Memphis

ISU gets ****** again. Same fuckkng bowl and opponent as a couple of years ago? Another G5 team? A home game for our opponent? Can we host a bowl game at Jack Trice?
The more I think about this, the more I would feel pissed if I was Memphis.
You know half the fun of a bowl game is to go somewhere. They get none of that. I can't imagine half the memphis fans will stay in hotels or more than a night. just don't get it.

I've been to the Liberty Bowl. On the way to the stadium they had bars on all the windows of houses and businesses. I'm not how sure how much worse Shreveport can possibly get.
Same thing around the Citrus Bowl/Pop Tart/Cheez It/Camping World/Champs Sports

Although I’ve been to that stadium many times for bowl games and know, in general, the peeps that live next to the stadium on the West side.

Park in their yard right next to the stadium and walk 2 minutes to the Party

Get over it. I have attended many ISU bowl games. Winning the bowl game makes the trip home much more enjoyable. When the bowl opponent has been a “step up” (LSU, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, N Carolina St, TCU, Alabama, Washington State, Notre Dame, Clemson), ISU has lost. Oregon may be the exception but that was a undermanned squad and COVID impaired season. Excluding Oregon, Pittsburgh, Minnesota and Memphis may be our best bowl wins.Losses to Rutgers, Boise State and Tulsa were not good.
