I've dreaded this game every year, ever since they put it in the middle of conference play. We went 4-6 overall. 6 of our last 8 games were on the road. Seems fair.

2022-23: Jan 28 at Missouri. Lost 61-78.
2021-22: Jan 29 Missouri. Won 67-50.
2020-21: Jan 30 at Miss St. Lost 56-95.
2019-20: Jan 25 at Auburn. Lost 76-80.
2018-19: Jan 26 at Ole Miss. Won 87-73.
2017-18: Jan 27 Tennessee. Lost 45-68.
2016-17: Jan 28 at Vandy. Lost 78-84.
2015-16: Jan 30 at A&M. Lost 62-72.
2014-15: Dec 4 Arkansas. Won 95-77.
2013-14: Dec 2 Auburn. Won 99-70.

The 'Challenge' thing is fine, the timing the last several years has been stupid win or lose.

Meanwhile other conferences are having a day to crank up their conference situations.

The challenge is fine. The timing blows. Thankfully the Big 12/Big East challenge is played in December.

Should have been in the non con like these things usually are. Glad it’s over

Obviously FOX & the B12 office will call the shots but I agree these type of games need to be in December. I’d rather watch a home game in December that would rotate with Drake and UNI in comparison to Winona State types.

Is this confirmed or assumed? If so I think we’d still always play Iowa but we’d never get Iowa in this thing.
Assumed. It's pretty easy inventory, especially when you practically own one conference and get a very large share of the other's basketball games.

Big 12 overrated

Not sure how you see that from what we've seen so far.

The 2 losses for the big 12 so far were on the road and hobbled by a couple major injuries.

Not to mention, the way it played out could not have been set up much worse for the big 12's highest rated teams. Of our 5 teams in the top 15, the SEC got to face 4 of them at home.
