oSu - ou
ou - ut
baylor - tcu
k-state - kansas
isu - kansas
ttech - ut
wvu - no one yet

seems to me cy and the dirty birds are getting it on a bit of late. what's the sense here? you'll note that rivalries often go one way and thus may not be shared, e.g. ttech -ut. i doubt the horns consider tech their rival over ou.

We don't have a conference "rival" anymore, as our two longstanding ones have left - Nebraska and Mizzou. Our rival is Iowa.

Id consider ISU more in the boat of having a rivalry with KSU or WV in football. But in basketball I could see ISU-KU being the premier rivalry of the XII in years to come. With ISU trending upwards and their ability to either beat the Jayhawks or play them very close that what we saw last year is only a small sample of what this game could become if Fred sticks around for awhile.

I know I have always hated the Jayhawks and I know they dont care for our fan base too much either.

KU does not consider KSU as a rival. They would take that as the supreme insult. They will tell you that they are better than KSU and list numerous reasons why. Their only interest in KSU is in keeping little brother down. Sound familiar?????

I consider K-State and WVU rivals in football, and Kansas a rival in Basketball. I don't think it is as easy to break down now. We really only have UT vs. OU, and to a lesser extent, KU vs. KSU in our conference, in my opinion.

I'd say K-State is our primary Big 12 rival, even if they don't consider us a rival. Football is pretty heated and basketball has been very back and forth lately.

EA Sports recognizes the rival with Kansas State as Farmageddon. Good enough for me.

i'd say they won't admit it, but clearly the team they would least like to lose to is k-state, hence the cats are indeed their inner-soul rival.

I think KSU is the closest thing we have in conference in Football, but I can see developing a rivalry with Tech or TCU if we can continue to beat them regularly. They will feel they ought to beat is and it will burn them when we win.

It would be cool if it were WVU, but can't see why it would be.

I'm right on board with this. Although I consider KSU and WVU more "friendly" type rivalries, where we have a lot in common with those schools (agriculture and rioting, respectively). But I friggin hate Kansas, especially when it comes to basketball. And I don't even like basketball.

I have long-believed that ISU-Baylor is a rivalry in the making. Both teams came from the bottom of their respective divisions and a win in this game usually meant that team would go bowling that year. I also think that the two men's basketball teams have been pretty competitive as of late and I love watching the Cyclone women defeat the lady bears.

If I was able to pick the rivalries I would pick the following:
Texas - OU (no-brainer)
OK State - TCU (Offensive v. Defensive football)
Tech - Kansas
Baylor - ISU (stated above)
West Virginia - Kansas State

Iowa is our primary rival. NU & MU basketball were two of the biggest games we probably had on the slate, which no longer exist. That said, in conference, I would go with:

Farmageddon -- ISU/KSU, also some decent recent history here in basketball
ISU/KU basketball

Just not enough history yet, but WV/ISU I think could become a rivalry with time, but it can't just be created. It will have to be played out on the field.

I would say KSU is our second biggest rival in football after Iowa and 3rd biggest in basketball after Iowa and KU. WVU could be in the future but not there yet. We don't hate their fans. It is harder to be rivals with KSU though because we do share a lot with their fan base including a hate of Kansas.

I feel that KSU is turning into a rivalry in football. The games have been notoriously tight for years and the fanbases have a lot in common.

ISU/KU will be the league's premiere basketball rivalry as long as Hoiberg is here.

In football one of our best rivals is Kansas State, although Farmageddon doesnt produce the high blood pressure in a lot of us that the Cy-Hawk game does. West Virginia isnt a rival yet but there is potential there. We need that burning couch trophy to make it official.

In Big 12 basketball, Kansas and Kansas State are our best rivals. We're starting to be consistently right there with Kansas even though they still win most of them. Baylor would be up there too I think if they could ever beat us in Hilton.

As a KU fan I see our rivals as Mizzou (yeah i know we don't play them right now but it will eventually start back up) and KSU.

In basketball if I could only pick one aside from the obvious KSU/MU for me it's the Longhorns. We've had so many classic regular season and more importantly Big XII title game battles. I hope they stop sucking soon because that is a fun series.

Jayhawk fan here: MU was our main rival (in a hatred way), but it's kinda nice that they are gone. I think it was getting out of hand. KSU has always been a rival but its not nearly as intense and more friendly.

I don't think most KU fans would see ISU as a rival. I think you guys are going to be good for years to come with Hoiberg, but throughout the Big 12 we've seen teams rise and fall. In the early years it was ISU, then Texas and aTm were good, KSU bounced back, now Baylor, OSU, and you guys are pretty good. We've had very good, competitive games with all those teams. But I don't think that just having good games between us makes us a rival. For years on end we beat KSU in bball, they beat us in fball, but the rivalry was still there.
