Years ago, Johnsonville was getting into the precooked sausage/brat market and they came to a few games and gave out a TON of them (6 packs). They legit gave our group a whole box. Each person went home with like 5-6 packs.
I do like Johnsonville. Say they don't make them like hotdogs, please!

I just saw one of those YouTube videos on 15 things not to eat; hot dogs were right there.

The announcement of $44 million per team has certainly caught the attention of Colorado and Arizona. It is just a formality now till they join. Yormack has done a masterful job. Thank you Bob Bowlsby for retiring.

Not exactly sure.
What is the payout agreement for the 4 new members, anyway?
Not sure the exacts, seems to have been reported differently a couple times. Just know that when at full feed they will be at 32 instead of 7. That doesn’t even throw in our bowl games (wonder what we will have) basketball tourney, and anything else that we generally get more for.

Yeah, honestly, I could live with 6 from Big 10 and SEC combined. That leaves room for 1-2 ACC, 1-2 B12, 1 P12, Notre Dame, and 1 G5.

I think in a realistic, ideal world, if B12 could consistently get 2 teams in a playoff each year, I could live with that. That’s more relative access than they’ve been getting in the 4 team playoff.

Way up there
Why are ppl giving the big ten as many teams as the SEC? They've shown nothing to prove the deserve more than the other p5.

It was posted that COMBINED they might get 6 spots. Could be 4 SEC and 2 B1G.

Agreed. Conflating media money with football quality is a huge problem with the current CFB media. It will be interesting to see how the elimination of divisions and the addition of USC and UCLA affect Big 10 records/rankings. They've been able to artificially inflate records/late season matchups/rankings with the strong/weak division setup.

I have no issue with Ohio State/Michigan/Penn State/USC making the playoff. The Big 10 has good teams, but no more than any other conference, and the bottom is as soft as any.

Let's be honest.... the B1G is lousy football outside of the tOSU and Mich.

Penn State and USC would like a word on that.
USC has been a non factor until Lincoln Riley got there. I'm really not sure what Franklin is doing with Ped state... they have had some bad seasons recently. They do have potential.

They’ve lacked solid QB play just like most of the rest of the league. Hell even Michigan had gone about 10 years without an average QB until McCarthy. PSU has had guys that appear to have high ceilings but never live up to it when it matters. Supposedly they have a young stud this year.

Everyone has a young stud, are stronger, faster and better. ;) That's how they presell tickets. Marketing 101.

Not sure what you mean by payout agreement? They get full shares when the 2025 media agreement gets going.
That's what I meant, shares. So what is their percentage share until 2025 ('23 & '24)?

I don't know who that QB was that came in last year or maybe the year before against Iowa when the starter got hurt. Kid apparently was actually a QB, but he looked like had never attempted a forward pass.

When they thought OUT would still be there for the 2 full years, each of the R8 were going to give up money (from the whole payout, not just media) for the 4 adds to get paid. I think the agreed amount was $16-$18 million per year for the 4 adds. The R8 knew they were going to get reimbursed some of this from OUT payout. OUT were not going to participate in the payout to the 4 newbies.

I have not seen if there are any changes to the payout formula for 24-25 because Texas and Oklahoma will be gone and the $100 million payment. With OUT gone in 2024-2025 I would assume they will keep the newbie payout at the agreed to $16-$18 million, before the full share kicks in with the new media contract. I have not heard or seen what the additional pay out from playoff expansion will be treated.

Remember the media contract has some pretty good accelerators that kick in for the last two years, which will offset some of the money ISU and others are giving up, plus the distribution of the $100 million. We will see how much the 2023-2024 payout goes down from $44 million, if any.
