Will the round of 16 finally convince the national "experts" how overrated this conference really was this year? Wisconsin, Michigan St, and probably Indiana losing and Ohio St possibly going down too.

I hope they all lose in this round. Most overrated conference I've seen this year... by FAR.

They are a fairly deep conference IMO, but no really good teams.

Big 10 power victories. Still don't think seeding matters?

13 Seed - New Mexico
12 Seed - VCU
15 Seed - LIU Brooklyn
9 Seed - St Loius
13 Seed - Montana
5 Seed - Vandy
15 Seed - Loyola
7 Seed - Gonzaga
7 Seed - St Mary's

I think it's funny that you start out a bash the Big 10 thread with the phrase "Sweet 16", and then list all the Big 10 teams in it.

how many sweet 16 did the big 12 have. dude, the big 10 was better than the big 12 this year.

Since when was this a discussion of B12 vs B1G? The B1G has been overrated all year, and we're seeing it now as their high caliber teams are losing to depleted/low ranked Big East teams.

Head to head records show otherwise and it will soon be shown that its not a great conference. They were seeded well and beat mid majors

The Big 10 will only lose credibility if they all lose in this round, which is entirely possible but not likely.

if the big 10 isn't best, who is?

Well if we are basing it off the tournament, I'll take the Big East. High % of teams in the tournament, and likely to get 3 teams in the Elite 8.

If you want regular season, I'll take B12. 3 teams in the top 10 almost all year, with the best parity from top to bottom in the league. 9 super-competitive teams and TTech.

So far I'd say 4 teams in the Sweet 16 and Purdue nearly took down KU in Omaha, is a pretty good showing for them. I'd put the Big East ahead, but it's close overall, IMO.

Way up there

I think Ohio St moves on but IMO the Indiana/Kentucky game earlier in the year was the game that the big 10 was built on, all the sudden Indiana looked good and teams got respect beating them. The(UK/UI)rematch will show just what a fluke that first game was.

Been saying this all year.

While I'm at it, I would like our chances against all the other 1 seeds in the tourney. We just ran into a buzzsaw that is loaded with NBA talent, who happened to play their best game of the year, and it was practically an away game.
