IDK if KD played at Hilton?

You’d have to define best college player or best player NBA player. Different answers there.

I get around
The guy I'm thinking of played for Southwestern Louisiana U. in 1972. SW Louisiana played in the 1972 NCAA Midwest Regional that was held in Hilton Coliseum. Must have been Dwight "Bo" Lamar.

I'm old enough that I was able to watch Wayman Tisdale. As a freshman, he was amazing. Johnny Orr put Ronny Harris on him, and amazingly he held him to 12 points (if my memory is correct, this was quite a few years ago).

Remember Ronnie Harris guarding him at 6’3.

That was David moss’s coming out party.

Darryl Spinks was better.

Anthony Peeler made a lot of free throws in Hilton, so did Derrick Chevious.

Maybe the best performance I ever saw in Hilton was Steve Henson from k state. We had them beat and he went nuts. Think he had 41, but that day he was steph curry.

Easy. Jonathan Bender. McDonald's All-American game MVP 1999. Beat Michael Jordan's record for most points in a McD's game.

I went to that game, there were a lot of guys that wound up playing in the NBA in that game. Carlos Boozer was undecided at the time but you could tell we was going to be a beast. Jay Williams, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Jason Richardson, Nick Collison. The 1 thing I do remember about that game was they had to take a cheerleader off on stretcher after she fell when 2 girls dropped her.

Raef was better, in my opinion.
I actually kind of lean that way too but googled to jog the memory on some of the older player and the KC star had an article in 2016 The best players in the 20 years of Big 12 Men's Basketball and they list Collison=1st and Fizer=2nd ahead of LaFrentz, as the KU homer paper I took their word for it.

Lets ask our resident Kansas fan. @randomfan44 who was better; Raef or Collison?

I hate them both for not going to ISU, but Raef was Big 12 POY twice. Nick was once. I think that is the tiebreaker.
