Any suggestions? (besides that zoo of a library of course) I just need some place that's well-lit and reasonably quiet.

A hidden gem: The Multicultural Center in the MU. The person study rooms are AWESOME!

On a side note, this dude next to me in the the library is having a very long and loud conversation. So annoying.

Hidden area:

Classrooms on the lower level of Beyer Hall. There are only 3 or 4 classes held there every day but the rooms are open and quiet. And it doesn't have wireless, whether that's good or bad is up to you.

The Libary always used to work best for me. I always liked the area in the middle which was almost all books. Really quiet there.

There were too many distractions almost every other place I used to go...

I like studying at Gerdin. Also, St Thomas church has a pretty good student area.
STA has the student lounge downstairs and the library upstairs. Student lounge can get a little loud though...

I liked going to Stomping Grounds. I always study w/headphones on, so I couldn't care less if it's a little noisy around me. I guess its not technically on campus, but still, its good studying...

Howe basement (if you can get a table) is pretty nice. Or grab an empty classroom. Those work well studying in groups, especially for problem-solving classes.

I always do my best work in the Friley Dungeon...kind of delapidated, but it has no windows and very little to keep you looking away from your work

I guess I'm not sure what you aren't getting. I liked studying at Stomping Grounds. I threw in the other part because it isn't really a "quiet" place. Lot's of people in there talking and stuff like that. I guess it was a warning for people who were seeking an explicitly quiet place. Because I study w/headphones, which block out most external noise, noise wasn't a factor for me in deciding where to study.
