giving up on my dream of getting an amc pacer and looking to get something smarter (better mpg/newer). looking at getting a good mpg wagon of some sort. budget is around 3k. anybody have experience with wagons that have been good (or bad)?

i'm ok with older models too as long as they get 25+mpg

honda civics and accords seem to do really well. anything else i should be looking into?

It takes no gas and will go as many miles as your older brother is willing to pull you before he gets tired.

I had an '87 Toyota Camry wagon for a while in college. Yes, all the ladies loved me. It consistently got right around 30 mpg.

My mom had a 80's vintage Ford Escort diesel wagon that I loved. It got like 50 MPG and had a 5 speed stick shift. I haven't seen one for years.

Go for the stick shift. That way people won't ever borrow it and you'll get better gas mileage.
