Looking to get a new HVAC (furnace and AC) installed. Any recommendations on companies to use?

We had a great experience with Northways. Small family run company where you talk to the same people instead of getting somebody different every time.

Bought hi eff furnace/CA a few years back with their service plan. I can't imagine a better experience anywhere else.

I got three quotes. City Wide (came highly recommended by two different people), Golden Rule, and Schaal.

Golden Rule probably made me feel the best over all but was the highest price. The Schaal dude felt like too much of a salesman. So went with the lowest price at City Wide. Overall I got a good product, but the guys they sent out were sloppy. Took them longer than expected, they left tools/screws around on the ground, and tried to get away with putting my AC unit on some old CMU blocks. I called them out and they came back to put a pad under it.

Whoever you choose, get multiple quotes, and stay on top of the work. It's never fun money to spend, but on these cold nights its worth it.

Polk County Heating and Cooling will give you a fair bid. They have plenty of experience both small and large and stay away from the gimmick sales. They work out of Polk City

If you can somehow hold off another month or two, you can get some pretty good deals. I got a free AC when I got my furnace replaced.

I went with Schaal when I had to do a complete replacement. They have taken good care of the system since. Been happy with them. Have not heard very good things about Golden Rule. Purely my opinion and experience.

Golden Rule does good work but they are on the high end. They can get away with it because they have a ton of technicians and you can get them out for a service call in no time.

We used Aspen Aire when we did our whole home humidifier and they were pleasant.

My experience with a Golden Rule quote was that they didn't break it down very well and they wanted an answer on the spot or it wasn't valid.

In December I went with Bell Bros for AC, Furnace, and Water Heater. Polk County H&C was the other I considered. I got two other quotes that did not stack up.

Very happy with how it went to this point, install went well, I think I have new good equipment (knocks on wood).

We had good luck with Bell Brothers on our AC install.
I live in an old home with boiler heat and ACs. I think Bell installed the boilers and the AC units some years ago before I bought the house, and I used them for a number of years for small stuff. This summer they came out when an AC unit went on the fritz, quoted about $1,000 to fix and also pitched a complete overhaul of the system.

Had another guy out, he said all you need is a new capacitor, it's a $20 part, I have one on my truck, and the AC was back up in 5 min for about $100.

Just one recent experience with Bell Brothers.

You can't go wrong with Northway Heating and Cooling! As mentioned above, they are a family owned and operated business for over 40 years. They replaced my furnace, A/C and water heater and we have absolutely not complaints since it happened 3-4 years ago. A lot of the bigger companies have been bought out and aren't locally owned. Stay local when you can!
