I went to Baylor, but have a lot of family from Iowa who went to Iowa State.

Anyway, TCU is our opener, and since you played TCU in your bowl game, I would greatly appreciate any input on who you would pick in that game, and how you think we match up against them.

By the way, I hated seeing you lose that game to TCU. I watched it and thought that you had it.

Thanks,

I'm not sure how many starters are back on this year's TCU squad, but they're still a tough team to beat. Didn't Baylor come close to beating TCU last year or some other year?

For some reason, I'm feeling a big upset with this game. Baylor beating ISU at home last year was a matter of Baylor playing well, not ISU playing poorly. They're going to be a surprise team in the South this year.

I'd have to base it off what I saw last year...and that was TCU was a better football team than Baylor.

It'll be close...but I think TCU wins.

We haven't played TCU since the old Southwest Conference. Thanks for your opinions.

If anyone has more thoughts, please post. After watching TCU play Iowa St., I feel pretty good about our chances. You guys seemed more physical than them -- but they ran a precise offense. If we can control the lines of scrimmage, I think we win. Thanks again.

TCU had no answer for Todd Blythe. For some unknown reason, Meyer refused to throw him the ball in the 2nd half.
TCU adjusted pretty well in the 2nd half to Blythe, and Blythe was just not open in the 2nd half because of it.

I seem to remember ESPN showing TB wide open on at least 2 occasions in the 2nd half and then him talking to Meyer about it.

I was at the game, so I did not get to see any of it on ESPN. I also enjoyed many a $7 beer at the game. But from what I can remember, they left Blythe pretty open in the 1st half, and tried to double him some in the 2nd. Regardless, TCU was an excellent team last year, and should of arguably been playing in a BCS game. I dont know who they lost or gained this year, but if they play like they did last year, look out!

The scary thing is, in my mind, we should have beaten them. But we fell down 14-0 early, and Meyer fumbled down at their end. It just makes me sick when I think about what last year COULD have been like...

TCU is an excellent team, and I would be surprised if Baylor beat them. Nothing against Baylor, they have come a long way. I just don't think they can stop the running attack of TCU.

I was hoping for some other opinions -- but definitely appreciate the responses. We'll see. Folks in Waco are very excited. But we're installing a new offense -- so starting with TCU may be tough.

Thanks again. I'll check this thread periodically over the next few days -- so if any light bulbs go off, please post.

Good luck to you guys.

Meyer didn't throwit to Blythe because he was running from the safeties as they were blitzing. Hard to set up and throw deep when you are on the move.
