I would like to see this with black for the outlines/shading instead of the darker cardinal
also threw in a navy option in case dan mccarney is lurking.

To my eye, the black outlines read so much better! The outlining may actually be a little heavy, but they don't disappear into the background the way that the cardinal with dark cardinal does.
Something a little less Bucky-like would be nice. This is too close to Bucky. Also, at that angle, with his tail feathers, looks too much like a long 'duster'coat.
How about a redesign? Walking CY, like your last, but similar to the Bucky angle? Keep the same head as your last.
Edit: Keep same body as this one also. Just maybe a different "bucky' angle, and one with a smile-face.

i'm not understanding how this has any similarities to Bucky whatsoever other than the angle.
as for the tail feathers...i mean, that's what a cardinal looks like. the current version of barrel chested cy has some kind of turkey feather butt thing going on that i never understood.
I prefer the black, too, vs. the dark cardinal. Agree it's still a bit heavy. Probably can't be too thin/hairline, but maybe reduce width of it all by 50%.
I maybe just don't see what you see. The two pics you
posted were not good resolution.
Keep doing you. It usually comes out good. When you are a little more done, post a better resolution pic next to the old bucky. I bet I'll like your version better.
Edit: I just 'clicked on' to your pics. The resolution is fine when you do that! A lot of people, including me, probably don't do that though. They are good, now that I see them better. The tail just seems off to me still. Perhaps use a darker 'dark red' for the one on the left. I like the black outline one better also.

Ames, do the tail differently, raise it up some maybe? Honestly, I like the bucky tail better. Give us a different head option, one closer to your previous? Otherwise, good work.
