AMES, Iowa – When Iowa State heads west on I-80 this week to face Nebraska in the Omaha Regional Friday, it will be more than just another volleyball weekend for the five Nebraskans on the ISU roster.

It will be a homecoming, a culmination of hard work and excellence that has led the five back to their home state for a weekend that they won’t soon forget, regardless of the outcome.

Iowa State head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch grew up in Omaha, attending Millard North High School before starring at Nebraska and leading the Huskers to their first national championship in 1995.

The Big 12 Coach of the Year looks forward to returning to Omaha, but mostly because she knows that playing in Omaha will be an experience her players will never forget.
