So I took a quick look through each B12 team's records in Google in games decided by 6 points or less this season (whole season, not just in-conference). This was something that the previous staff struggled with and I attribute it to a mix between in-game coaching and player maturity. ISU's record is really impressive considering the guys have been playing together for less than a year.

Here are the results:
BU : 3-1 (75%)
ISU : 6-2 (75%)
KU : 5-2 (71%)
TCU : 5-2 (71%)
UT : 5-3 (63%)
WVU : 4-4 (50%)
OSU : 6-7 (46%)
TxT : 3-4 (43%)
KSU : 5-7 (42%)
OU : 4-6 (40%)

Other takeaways: I thought TxT would be much higher given how old they are, although one of their losses was to us with only 7 players. WVU started really strong in this in the non-con but has been really poor in conference play. And OSU has played an absurd amount of close games, guessing Wed will be a nail biter just like the first edition.

That's great to see. That's one thing the last couple years that was so disheartening. You knew if it was close at the end of the game we were losing.

Thank you for putting this together. Makes me recall what Tinsley said about nerves and fatigue in late game situations. Basically, he said "You haven't been in one of our practices.". Of course on the hypocritical side he did miss that layup in the tourney which embarrassed us.

I think a lot of that is Brockington. That pull up can be almost unstoppable. He might be the best bucket getter I've seen at ISU.

It at least makes up for poor ft shooting…although our ft shooting in final two minutes seems way better than rest of the game.

Agree. ISU has missed more front end of one and ones than any time I can remember.

Also this looks pretty good for us on paper, but we also completely folded a few times for some BAD blowouts, especially at home. I wish our loss number was actually a lot higher. Shows heart to stay in a lot more games.

Give me TCU@ISU and ISU@WVU as non late game blow outs and give me 6-4 instead.

I rather see a stat like average point margin for both losses and wins.

Niang would like a word with you. I agree Izaiah's definitely ONE of the best.

I agree he's up there. Way different players though. Guess it depends on what your definition of a bucket getter is.

Well, so as to keep some perspective (I know, not a popular thing to do), we should have fewer "close game" wins by finishing out games with big leads without letting the opponent close to within one score at the end (e.g., at OSU, at K-State...). ;)

I think the big second half comeback versus OU in Hilton he scored most of the points, like we were down 20 or 22 and he rattled off a bunch in a row. Amazing

To me, Brockington at times conjures Barry Stevens, as far as can't-be-denied. Specifics of their types of shots/general role within team framework differ somewhat ... it's a "did he actually make that shot?!" vibe.
