Where his ties come from:

A combo guard at Southeastern Louisiana under coach Billy Kennedy for five seasons, Berry redshirted his third year in preparation for what would be two of the most successful seasons in program history. In Berry's redshirt-junior season of 2003-04, the Lions went 20-9 overall and 11-5 in the Southland Conference.

Already feeling a little "good-'ole-boy network" in these hires so far. Remember when Mayor hired people with whom he had not associated previously, but that were great hires nonetheless?

Usually for a network to exist you need more than two points to go off of.

If he wants to be successful he'll need more than just Southern ties. I assume this mean T.J. could stick around. Seems more and more likely he remains on staff.

Only three can recruit off campus. Will he be one of them?

Berry is not one of the 3 assistant coaches. However he does have experience as he was a full time assistant at South Carolina for 4 years.

What do you think coaching is? You hire people you know and trust. Hoiberg couldn't do this (other than Matt A.) because he had never coached before and didn't have the contacts most coaches already in the profession do.

So much this. Fred had just about zero coaching contacts when hired. Prohm has a ton.

Remember when Fred was the coach? He's not anymore.

This^^ MartyFine was probably a huge TJ supporter for coach but does not realize TJ would be hiring mostly "good ole boys" himself
