Ashley Joens has been waived from the Dallas Wings roster. The wings ended up signing Odyssey Sims.

They go with what gets them listeners/views. If Clark was doing what she is doing for ISU, they would give her the same amount of attention. Clark is good and deserves the attention, it is what it is. We, as WBB fans, should be happy of the attention WBB is getting in our state - both Iowa and ISU got a lot attention these last few years.

The thing about the Wild/I-Cubs/Wolves etc is it’s not a top league. I truly don’t know how WNBA would draw in DSM but I can give my perspective on MLS. As an Ames resident I would try to attend a few games a year if a team existed. With the amount of people now living downtown I would think they could have some sellouts on a Saturday night.
There's a campaign to bring a USL team to Des Moines. That's one below the MLS, but independent from it. It's decently high level soccer. USL has agreed to bring a team to DSM if the stadium gets funded and built. A purpose built stadium on the old superfund site

DM does really well with pro sports considering the metro only 750k. I mean that is small even for a medium-sized city. That's about half of what even markets like Tulsa and Louisville have. Des Moines is basically Wichita.

I'll go with Webster's definition of butthurt.
Well the player from LSU had the last laugh and put her in her place with pointing at her finger as to a NCAA championship ring! She might play 5 seasons but will never win the NCAA championship! LSU will win it again next season mainly because of their coach.

While I would love an MLS team in Oklahoma as well there hasn't been any interest from the league. This is a sun belt state with tons of interest in the sport from ex pats and two media markets in Tulsa and OKC that are both larger than DSM. Iowa isn't getting an MLS team.
DSM could easily support an MLS team. Media market doesn't matter as much as getting fans in the stadium for MLS compared to other pro leagues. They'd steal a good chunk of Sporting KC fans, including myself.

Average attendance for the USL team is 3000. For reference Tulsa has a USL squad that currently pulls in 4-5K. You would in no way do what you are saying.

Des Moines is the most overrated sports town I've ever heard of. There is no way anyone is rolling into town with a MLS offer.

In fairness, it’s USL League 2 (which is fourth tier amateur soccer) and it gets the best attendance of all the teams at that level. But you’re right, there’s no chance of an MLS team in Des Moines.

I would. I went to quite a few SKC games every year when I lived there but won't plan a weekend just to go to a game since I moved to DSM. I'm not saying anyone is but hypothetically if my last name was Albaugh I would be.

Cyclones football will win back-to-back national championships before MLS ever steps foot in Des Moines.
