I don't hate Baylor in basketball. I totally understand and sympathize with the bad feelings about Baylor, but I have difficulty hating them since they knocked both Creighton and Nebraska out of the NCAAs in the same year we beat them twice, a few years ago.

They are playing great

True, but the only relevant teams they've played this season so far have all been home games, granted, they're 2-1 against ISU (W), TT (W), and KU (L). They still have to play all three of us on the road plus they still have to play K-State and Texas. Of course they're playing well - I even said they were a fringe NCAA team when people were freaking out about the back-to-back losses against them and K-State. But anyone that thinks they're going to be the ones to dethrone KU needs to hold those horses until they play an actual relevant Big 12 road game.

And yeah - F Baylor.

Yeah, the only road conference games they have played are against the the four teams that have a losing conference record and all of them would still have a losing record if they had beat Baylor. Baylor hasn't faced anyone within 2 games of the conference lead on the road except 3-4 TCU - who beat them.

Can't deny that they are playing well especially given that big man out. However...three of their wins, while on on the road and should be commended, are against arguably the three worst teams in the league: WVU, OU, OSU. They still have road games at Texas, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Texas Tech.

Baylor has also never had fewer than two losses in the league at home. KU already beat them in Waco. They'll lose at least one more along the way.

Pretty sure they were playing in SA as well.

Didn't Scott Drew stop by our locker room to congratulate us after beating UNC?

Isn't everyone still happy and grateful that Baylor defeated Iowa and Fran in the Final Tournament Game a few years ago, denying Fran a National Championship??? Fran would be dangerous with that big national championship ring flailing at referees and might strike one.

Here's my favorite Scott Drew story. On the day of the first modern Big 12 championship for us, I was sitting on a couch in the second floor lounge of the Marriott in Kansas City doing some work when the Baylor team starts coming off the elevators to go to wherever they were having lunch. When they came back, Drew waited to be the last one to get on an elevator.

The elevators were crowded because it was the second floor and our fans were all loading in on the first floor. He let each player get on as they could before he did. Maybe he was "policing" them and just making sure that they all got on or didn't get into trouble, but he did it himself, not delegating it to some assistant. It seemed more like a humble coach that was just taking care of his guys and made himself be the last one to be served. I thought it was pretty cool.
