Do they get to pop a top after a great victory, or do they simply have a quiet dinner at home with their wife(s)?
I'm not saying that I don't like Paul Rhoads as a coach. I just don't get why we didn't at least try for him. I just I still think that we should of at least tried to get Whittingham as a head football coach.
Why would he leave Utah for Iowa State? He's from Utah. He knows the area and the culture, and knows how to recruit that region. He's just proven that it's easier to get to the BCS from Utah than it is from Iowa State. Utah has more success, recently and historically, than Iowa State. And I don't think Iowa State could necessarily offer him a monetary package that's all that much better than what he's making at Utah.I'm not saying that I don't like Paul Rhoads as a coach. For all we know, Pollard placed that courtesy call to Wittingham, who quickly replied with a "thanks, not interested." But even if Pollard didn't make that call, I wouldn't blame him. It's not like we had any shot with him to begin with.

I'm not saying that I think that Whittingham would come to ISU. What I'm saying is I'm just dissapointed that Whittingham didn't have an interview with Pollard or anything. Even though Whittingham probably wouldn't have come anyway, I would of liked to hear about a call place to Whittingham or something.
Good point. Who's to say that a call wasn't placed to Whittingham or his agent? There are ways for an AD to find out whether a coach is interested or not without it being publicly known. It's best that way for both sides sometimes.Let's say that the call was placed, and Whittingham didn't express interest. Would you want it out there that you did or didn't?
Wouldn't that whole 'revelation' undercut the new coach?
I'm just asking. I've never been in that position.

I'm also guessing that he wouldn't have asked our Mormon question here.:wideeyed:
I think the quiet road is the best one, and I really respect Jamie for his ability to do it so well.
