one nice thing about sports is that it provides a diversion from the ridiculous world of politics and the state of our world affairs, liberals and conservatives can sit side by side and have a beer together and talk football or hoops or whatever. I live in Colorado, home of some of the most liberal (Boulder) and conservative (CO Springs) towns in the country... I miss the moderate, no-nonsense, practical attitudes most Iowans share. I don't hear Deace except when I'm traveling through central Iowa. A few comments though that my friends have told me is that Deace piles on Jim Rome for being liberal. (!) What? That just shows to me how far right Deace is. Just because someone questions where the WMD's in Iraq are that I've heard Rome mention in the past doesn't mean he's a radical or anti-American. For cripes sake, Rome pimps H2 Hummers, and I think he drives one himself. Not only that, he has had on numerous occassions military vets that discussed the Pat Tilman story, including Iowa native Chad Hennings. Rome regularly acknowledges military listeners, so I don't think Rome fits the Deace definition of america-hating liberals.

I observed Steven while catching a "Superman" matinee last Saturday. I am not sure which image me more uncomfortable....the "man of steel" being protrayed with zeal by a closeted Hawk or Steven's rapid approach to severe unhealthy preportions. God god man, you have beautiful children...please make an honest attempt to see them graduate from elementry school....avoid the naughty morsels and crack that "tai-bo" box.

On Wednesday he was talking for awhile about Jack Trice Stadium expansion. He said they ran out of money on original press box as it was smaller and had no air conditioning. He actually talks a lot about Iowa State and Big 12 in addition to Huskers.

I can't disagree with you dropping KXNO. I tried when I was bored to give Marty and Miller one more shot. First thing they were doing was talking about how much they hate the UFC. Fine, but what was horrible was one of the morons started in an all out yelling match with callers calling them trailer trash and saying they had a 4th grade education. It was Jerry Springer on your radio. I turned the channel over to FM to listen to anything else.
I was entertained by Deace when he was on KXNO even with the occasional Rove talking points, I could ignore it because his sports talk was entertaining.
Now he's just a poor man's Rush Limbaugh. For all the virtue and morality he spits out, it sounds like he went to WHO first and foremost for the paycheck. What are his credentials for hosting the new show? Has he ever held elected office? Ever served in the military? Even even worked on a political campaign?

M&M are terrible on KXNO, and I just don't get as much enjoyment listening to Deace talk politics & world events...so I don't listen to either.

I'm quite sure Deace doesn't mind people talking bad about him...people talking about him is what he wants. He's getting you to talk which is the best advertising you could ask for! As far as equating morality with taking a better paying job, would you be upset if I called you immoral for taking a better paying job?
