I have been working for a company now for over six months and the IT guy can't figure out how to allow me to get email on my lap top. I travel quite often so it is very inconvenient to say the least. Have any of you guys had luck with this website and is there a reason it might not work with my present server.

I'd think there would be an easier way to get your email than gotomypc.

Why not get a gmail account and have your work email forwarded to that?

You can set it up to have it look like it came from you work email address, not your gmail one.

You can have it forward everything that comes into your work inbox, and filter those emails to be labeled "work" or something like that that distinguishes it from regular email.

Do you use exchange? It would surprise me that they didnt have OWA set up if they did.

I have no idea how any of it works I just know that it shouldn't take six months. I will use the gmail thing if it will look like it comes from my office. I really don't need to get into the system but if gotomypc was easy I wouldn't mind being able to pull up the quotes that happen while i am gone. I can just print them once a week if need be. The IT says it is too big a security risk to let me get into the system remotely.

I use remote desktop all the time at for work. Takes you directly to you desktop, not sure how to set it up, the IT guys here did it for me. Its already on your computer and lappers.

We have mail exchange too.

Gotomypc is great and simple to use, howeve, I would recommend logmein.com as this is free as opposed to gotomypc.

This screams IT is under educated. I guess if they dont allow anything, use email forwarding or something of that nature.
