Anyone else hearing that JP has already decided Prohm is coming back?

How would the “covid season mulligan” even be justified?

Maybe at the struggling big boy schools but we’re not exactly big boying it coming into this season.

If there is wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth at UK, KU, Duke, UNC or MSU, I've not heard about it.

There are some vocal UNC fans who aren't too happy with Roy at the moment. They got whacked in the Sweet 16 as a 1 seed to Auburn two years ago, last year they went 14-19, and this year they're above average.

I'm not saying it's justified either. It's quite idiotic. They made back to back national titles 5 years ago and won 1 of them.

Nope. And yes, I know we suck. And yes, I know we should fire Prohm...

I also know JP will be able to justify keeping SP for one more year if he wants to. He's got football success and facilities improvements to distract fans like me whose patience won't run out until the end of next year. Fans like me who recognize the product is down across the board.

If Jamie has a guy now, great! If he wants another year for a search, fine by me. He knows what the limit is and I trust him.

You’re an idiot. Literally. He can’t justify Prohm for another year. He can only justify him to people who are complete idiots, or people who have never watched basketball before.

UNC has been kind of weird under Roy. Great teams that win national titles walking backwards but then some pretty marginal teams too.

Come on man, if we are going to Frankenstein a coach from reanimated parts we'll go all Cyclone with parts from Tim Floyd and Maury John for defense and Orr and Hoiberg parts for offense. ;)
I think Tim and Fred may have a problem with us harvesting parts they may still be interested in using.

Fred has some support in the Ames area. Donors have stepped up for both TJ and Fred buyouts. They are separate groups but support for either is there. Let’s see where JP goes with this.

I have no inside info, but I’ll surrender all my CF coupons if there is enough mutual interest between ISU’s AD and Nebraska’s head coach to make that happen. Just can’t see it.

Agree. I very seldom use the word 'never', but I believe Hoiberg will never return as ISU's coach.
Wish him the best and hope he can turn Nebraska around eventually.

With Fred I think it comes down to do they still think he can turn the program around, or would they rather get out of the contract and hire someone for a quarter of the price and get similar or better results. I’m not saying the waive the buyout like we’d love to do if someone wanted to hire Prohm, but they might be interested in negotiating it.

I never want Hoiberg back here again. His time here was great but his time has passed. Time to move on people. ISU is not his 'dream' job. He'll always have drifting eyes.

JP has all of the negotiating power with Fred and I bet he rather enjoys that.
