Can someone tell me what this means and how I can spot one?

I relate it to Kramer from Seinfeld, when Elaine called him a "Hipster Doofus".

I can't see the guy who singlehandedly tries to keep Ames in the 70's living in a new development.

But it would be funnier if he did.

The area in that list isnt new.

Well, if I smelled like gyros, id love my own smell too.

He doesn't actually do the dirty work anymore. Too busy being the opposition to any new development in Ames.
