Excellent post, Klubber. I had started out to do some similar research a week or ten days ago by pulling EIU coach salaries out of the Press-Citizen, but never got farther than that. I wouldn't have done as good a job as you did anyway! Thanks for showing that it's the quality of our coaching staff, not the money we can afford to pay them, that's lacking!
I didn't go into some of the other hyperlinks that were provided and my question might be covered there, but what are highly thought of coordinators like Bo Pelini making? What's Steve Loney making as the Arizona Cardinal OL coach?
As for the EIU assistants making more than their ISU counterparts, I'm certain their presence in BCS and "better bowls" on an annual basis more than evens it out on the balance sheet!

His numbers are off on some of the ISU coaches. Skladany makes $177,000; Cotton makes $173,550; and Alford makes $170,000. Mac makes $1.1 million, not counting incentives. I don't know about all the other ISU assistants. Here are links that verify this info.
