He fell from a considerable height inside the hangar.

Someone near my age makes you take pause and examine your life. Watched him and his brother at ISU. RIP

Had classes with him. Everyone used to wish him luck Friday’s before a game.

I’m reminded of a story I once heard about when Mike and Maynard both had tryouts with the Oilers. As I understand it, Maynard was released fairly quickly, but stuck around, sleeping in whatever player dorms and eating at the training table.

But since he looked so much like Mike, no one questioned his presence. Got away with it for a couple of weeks before someone noticed.

I always thought that was an awesome story.

Very fond memories of the brothers and what I’ll always consider one of the best defenses in ISU history.

Those defenses in the 70s with the Stensrud brothers were really good.

Tom Boskey, The Stensrude brothers Matt Blair Merv Krakau were who I thought of as ISU football on D side of the ball.

My brother who played football at Iowa state was a backup behind Maynard got to know the brothers through the years my brother was on those mid to late 70’s teams
