another computer help thread

okay folks. i'm a big idiot and i fell for the antivirus 2009 download. if anyone gets the chance to download this, DON'T!!!!!

i think it is a worm or actual virus that they intend to look like something that helps you. now almost every time i open the net, every page-including this one-says is blocked.

i did a my computer search, and found 2 folders containing "antivirus 2009" stuff, and got rid of both of those. i can't figure out how to uninstall it, however.

i also can't find any more sign of it in my computer, other than the fact that it blocks almost every page-refresh sometimes works which is how i am able to write this.

please help!!!!!!

It happens. People make mistakes.

Or we could start threads about people with computer problems, and say that they aren't putting themselves in position to succeed with their computers, and shouldn't have them.

Or it happens. I think brianhos's link will work like a charm.

thanks hos, i tried that one already, and it seems to me that it is asking you to download another similar type software that i'm afraid may just cause more problems?

Malwarebytes is ok and does the trick. That one is safe - download it from Malwarebytes.org
