They make light of Aldrich and Collins, but those two guys would have started for any other team in the conference.

Not a good guesses. KU and NU are way off.

I think he's on to something when he talks about KU struggling. This team is going to take a while to find an identity, and i'd be surprised if they finish higher than fourth.

Predicting Nebraska that high, though, seems strange. He talks about Maric being the only one to replace, but he's really the only reason they won in the first place. I just don't think NU has the size necessary to compete for first tier in the B12.

Well, absolutely no one predicted ISU would vault to # 1 in 1999-2000 so maybe this guy is onto something with NU. I think it'll be a little bit of a down year in the Big 12 so just about anything is possible.

I hate ku but there is no way they finish 11th. Well at least he is generating some buzz for his column with that prediction.

Kansas will struggle, but they are going to be far too talented to finish that low, IMO. I can't see them finishing any worse than 7th and that's an absolutely worst case. Again, my opinion.

Nebraska does return a somewhat talented defense, but Maric was nearly their entire offense last year. I just don't see where the points are going to come from to finish in the Top 3. I know the Big 12 North will be down a bit with no real dominant team, but I just don't see how they could finish above 5th.

That being said, anything could happen and there is no doubt that crazier things have happened.

I think KU is going to be tough with Sherron Collins (if his head's on straight) and Cole Aldrich. I think Aldrich is really going to break out this year.

KU should be interesting...Why are they going with JC players?

How will KU look without a few of Roy William's guys?

Haha I like how they say "Nebraska only loses Maric (sp?)" well considering he was basically their entire team...

Yeah, they shouldn't miss 16 points and 10 rebounds at all. After all, they are Nebraska. They will just reload? :skeptical:

Actually, I have heard from some people I trust that the coaching staff was just waiting for Maric to leave. He really doesn't fit into their system but he was too talented to not play, so they had to change things to work through him.
