I didn't read all seven pages, but there was a stretch of movies where a "nerdy" character got a makeover and people were either in awe or didn't recognize the person. And all that really happened was they took their glasses off and got new clothes. Maybe a new haircut.

Is that the one when each bad guy "waits his turn" while another guy spars individually with the hero, instead of them ganging up a fighting as a group? I love those.
It sure was thoughtful that Thanos waited for the rest of the Avengers to show up in the final battle scene in "End Game."

That one I kinda get actually but agree it’s wild especially in some of the John wick or other action movies.

LOTR is my favorite film trilogy of all time but there are a couple scenes where this is extremely noticeable and it is a little immersion breaking

Although, in The Dark Knight, when Bane waited his turn and broke Batman's back, that scene was pretty bad-ass.....even if his voice sounded like an early Bond villain.

The Bane voice might be one of my favorite movie "quotes"(?) of all time. It's not really a quote, but it's in that vein. It's SO odd.

I use the Bane voice to talk to my children. "Do you feel in charge?"

I use it at work. "You merely adopted Microsoft 365 infrastructure. I was BORN in it!"

I talk to my dogs in the Bane voice. "Now is not the time for treats. That comes later!"

I should send Tom Hardy a thank you note for all of the joy he's given me.

That movie where Sean Penn is pulling an elaborate prank on his brother Michael Douglas.

I believe it was named “Incomprehensible”.

LOL. My wife and I saw it in a theater with another couple. When he spoke, my buddy and I (bookending the four of us) both did that "slow lean forward and look at each other" move at the exact same time.

And yeah, I've found plenty of use for that voice since then as well.

The dumb dad trope is all over commercials, but it's in TV shows, too. "Homer Simpson-ing."

Includes Al Bundy, Peter Griffin, Phil Dunphy, Ray Barone, Doug Heffernan, etc.

90% of TV ads cater to women. Especially married women. Women like to make fun of their husbands. It makes sense actually.

Little House on the Prarie was supposed to take place in Minnesota so they chose the closest looking setting to Minnesota. Southern California.

The TV series is probably misnamed because it is called Little House on the Prairie but Carrie Ingalls - the younger sister was born in Kansas just before the family promptly moved back to Wisconsin and then to Minnesota. The Greenbush sisters who played the role together were around 5 years old which is just about the age Carrie was when they left Wisconsin again and settled in Walnut Grove, MN.

The first episode of the TV series is the family settling in Walnut Grove. I suppose they could have called it On the Banks of Plum Creek which was the novel covering their time in Walnut Grove, but that wasn't as famous of a title for the series name.

I don't know if it's a trope, but I definitely feel like it's becoming one: When a TV show has one random episode that is stylistically completely different from the rest of the show. These episodes are generally artsy/experimental and well-reviewed but by they drive me up the wall since they stop almost all rhythm the series has.

Examples:
Fargo S5: Puppet Show Episode
Ted Lasso: Coach Beard episode
Bojack Horseman: Lost in Translation underwater
Barry: ronny/lilly

I'm not saying these episodes are bad, in fact some are great, but they also aren't the show I wanted to watch. Especially since seasons are only like 10 episodes now. It made more sense to be experimental when there were 24 episodes a season.
Cannot speak to the others in this list, but I know for Lasso they had already shot the originally ordered 10 episodes for Season 2, but with the popularity of Season 1, 2 additional episodes (Beard After Hours and Carol of the Bells) were ordered and shot later, hence the discontinuity with the rest of the season.

The one that I always laugh at is more of a props thing. Every time someone is carrying groceries there is ALWAYS a baguette sticking out of the top.

And it's always in a large brown paper grocery bag. When's the last time you had groceries in one of those?
Every time I go. At least give me one with handles.

Watching a movie now and saw something that always seems wrong.

Somebody opens the car trunk and shoots the person in the trunk. Drives away...

In almost every sedan the gas tank is directly under the trunk, so the bullet(s) would go right through the dead guy and then through the gas tank and empty out in about 10 minutes, leaving them stranded.

I also get annoyed when a character walks into a room and no one is there, the character stands there for a second and the bad guy comes up from behind to grab them but apparently can walk so silently as to make zero noise at all while also completely managing to stay in their blind spot the entire time.

I am also getting tired of the Directors who use the "cool" new camera move to continuously circle the people talking. It's almost dizzying.

I prefer the old two/three/more shot of everyone together. Or where they jump back and forth between multiple cameras to the different characters as they speak.
