I'm in a snack gift exchange and I have someone from New Zealand.

Anyone know any American snacks that aren't available over there?

Sunflower seeds!

When I studied abroad I had to have my parents ship me large bags of them. With so many other American's there, you could sell them for a pretty decent amount.

My roommate and I had to ration them so we didn't go through bags so fast. We were at a handful a day limit for awhile.

I know someone from Australia who said licorice is only available in Sydney. A very uncommon treat over there.not sure if it's the same with New Zealand or not

I'd send a bottle of Sriracha hot sauce because that's what friends do.

I remember on my trip there that it seemed there was very little popcorn around. I asked a guy about it on the plane and he said basically, just at movies. So maybe popcorn?

Kool-aid, Reese's, 3 Muskateers are a few.

Make sure to request Tim-Tam's in return.

My first cousins live in NZ and have worked over here for a few years right after college. I asked them on facebook and their responses were: Reeses peanut butter cups for sure... they can't get those. Others listed: Babe Ruth, Milk Duds, Nestle Crunch. They also said Jelly Belly's are almost impossible to get and super expensive in NZ.

They also both seemed to mention chocolate covered pretzel crisps. Apparently those are like a luxury there.
