I hate seeing someone make a post and add “amirite?” Using that automatically makes you wrong. It barely saves any time at all and makes you look like an idiot.

A friend of mine that lives in Iowa told me, "If Iowa gave up the southernmost 10 miles of the state to Missouri, the IQ for both states would increase."
bottom 2 tiers of counties is how it was always said to me...

"Good idea! Let's flush it out so we can proceed"

It's flesh. As in putting flesh on the skeleton of a good idea that needs more detail.

That one I understand. It’s supposed to read like you are saying it. Unless they are actually asking if they are right, I am onboard with amirite.

Using “seen” when you should use “saw” is a huge pet peeve of mine. I don’t claim to be an overly smart person, but that just sounds so unintelligent.

Scottie Pippen had some great remarks along these lines.

After an opposing player had a great game (I forget who): "He's one of the best power forwards in the game, I take my hands off to him."

After joining the Houston Rockets: "We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees."

Sometimes if it's used/intended sarcastically, I don't mind, but in general, mainly in conversation, I think tack-ons such as "right?" and "you know what I mean?" are way overused.

The latter, seemingly everyone in my close family circle seems to be unable to avoid it.

The former, I hear it a LOT on podcasts/interviews and such.

Know what I'm sayin'?

Probly doesn't matter but whenever I see a post like this I have a reminder that the stupid language is pretty broken. Example being why are all the 'e's in Mercedes sound differnt?

To be fair, the first contentious post regarding this was you taking offense when someone said they had never heard it. You acted like they accused you of making it up when he did nothing of the sort.

Let it go...
I did nothing of the sort. I told a story about someone who DID think I made something up. Seriously, what posts are you people reading where you form opinions based on information the post never contained?

In general it seems like recently there has been degradation of the English language. Are people just more lazy? Are people getting dumber like Idiocracy? I try to not worry about nonsensical phrases. As long as I know what the other person means it’s not a big deal.
