My personal All Iowa/ISU Wrestling Lineup for 2020 (confirmed bias at some spots)

125: Lee
133: Desanto until Gomez can prove he can consistently make weight and is healthy
141: Parker (definite bias here as Eierman is a stud, but Parker has become an absolute hammer)
149: Degen
157: Carr
165: Marinelli
174: Kemerer
184: Assad or Brands for now. Colbray could change my mind
197: Warner. But watch out for Bastida
Hwt: Cassioppi

Would definitely have been some great matches in the dual this year. Hopefully we see some of those matchups in March.

It depends on which Colbray shows up.

Another Gomez Desanto match would be fireworks

Also, I don’t think it’s bias at 41. Parker has earned it. He doesn’t beat you, he outworks and breaks you.

Eierman did pin Ian the last time they wrestled. Eierman is really funky though, and Ian tends to do much better wrestling the funky guys a second time around. I think it would be a toss up the next match.

Right. He also has gotten caught by Demas bullsh*t moves before too but like you said, once he’s seen it, it’s not likely to happen again. And if he gets you late into the third, youre not going to have more in the tank than Ian does.

2021:
125- Lee
133- DeSanto
141- Eierman
(Parker is a stud, but I don’t see him as a title contender like Eierman)
149- Degen ISU
(Murin may make a push for this spot, but it’s clearly Degen now)
157- Carr ISU
165- Marinelli
174- Kemerer
184- Brands
(Beat Colbray at the dual last year so I gave him the nod, interchangeable really)
197- Warner
285- Cassioppi

@CyTwins, you disagreed, but didn’t give yours. Let’s see your 2021 lineup.

Where do I begin?
141- Ian Parker has never placed at the NCAA tournament. Jaydin Eierman is a 3x All-American (5,4,3). AND Eierman pinned Parker in their only H2H
184- Could make a case for Colbray, as I conceded. Colbray lost the H2H to Brands in the dual. Colbray regressed last year from 28-8 to 18-9 record.
197- You think Marcus Coleman (career 45-25), bumping up from 184 to 197 will be able to overtake All-American Jacob Warner (career 42-10)

I agree Parker would have AA’d last year, but the matches didn’t happen. To have him above Eierman by just comparing resumes is homerish.

Do you think Tom Brands made the schedule? He’s not scared of Dresser’s squad
Brands has a reputation for ducking and manipulating his schedule for his guys that’s well known across the wrestling world. You know this unless you just don’t follow wrestling. Even if it was a conference rule, I’m sure brands were more than OK with that
