If a player up for an award for the best center in the country is pushed to guard by an underclassman, I think most people would look at that as a testament to the ability of said underclassman.Or they think Welsh is a better guard...

I like to use preseason accomplishments as justification for predictions/evaluations of individual player's talent. Just like you.Welsh didn't even play center last year. Welsh was going to be on the list at either guard or center, the voters thought he'd play center so that's why he was on that watch list. Both are good players but I don't think Welsh being on any list proves anything about Daniels' talent

No, but the person he pushed to guard did. Thus demonstrating his talent. And Daniels did not receive any preseason recognition at guard where he was projected to start

Come on Twins, I've always thought we have had maintained a level of civility when conversing on this forum. I'm not trolling I'm stating an opinion. I don't take the internet that seriously. You're not as good at trolling as AltHawk but I appreciate the effort

Can't hide on the Internet I suppose. You got me, I did, It was the Homer in me.If you're not trolling then you don't understand that Welsh getting preseason recognition has nothing to do with Daniels' ability. I thought that was pretty clear considering they just threw Welsh on a watch list thinking that is where he would end up. If Daniels can be as good as Blythe which is very possible you guys are set at Center for a while. I do agree, you are one of the better Hawkeye posters on here though even if you did vote for Uthoff as the Wooden Award Winner

I'll take Wadley-we"ll see after Saturday. Warren had how many yards against us last year??Can't hide on the Internet I suppose. You got me, I did, It was the Homer in me.

Where do you get the idea that the QB position was close before this week? Beathard is a lot better.
I dug up the thread for your convenience.

Why does that matter?
Its not all Hawkeye fans posting in that thread.

Canzeri was a very good college RB. He's playing pro ball in Japan actually. Just because he didn't have the skill set to play on Sundays, (many undersized RB's don't) doesn't diminish what he accomplished last year. 984 rushing yards with 12 rushing touchdowns last year, all while missing 2 games due to injury. Those stats aren't too shabby.
Gotta love this week. ISU fans arguing passionately that 3 or 4 players would be in Iowa's starting 22 + specialists (which is basically admitting we suck) and Iowa fans arguing every one of them other than Lazard.
Warren's also racking up stats against pretty atrocious rush D's.
