Pretty cool list. I don't really agree with some of the rankings but didn't really take away from enjoying this. I hadn't heard much of the first half, but knew most the rest. I wasn't really big into Nirvana until right after Cobain died (I was only 10 then), so I never really thought much into the lyrics. The writeups on these songs are just as enjoyable as reliving the memories. Enjoy you 30s+ crowd!

Cool link. Obviously very debatable, but good stuff. Personally, I'd put "Lounge Act" up a lot higher, but that's just my preference.

I still remember the censored album of In Utero named the song "Waif Me" on the back of the CD.

The first 10 seconds of Smells Like Teen Spirit defined a generation.

My favorites:

About a Girl - interesting they almost didn't put this in their debut album because it wasn't grunge enough
Milk It
Molly's Lips
Sappy (very underrated)
Aneurysm
Lake of Fire (that whole concert is worth the watch)
I'm on a Plane
PennyRoyal Tea
Sliver (surprised it was #3).

I'm not even going to look at that list. I'll just assume that my list is completely inverse from Rolling Corpo.

I was not overly impressed with the lack of love for the Insecticide LP, thought that was a great album throughout....

I had to drive to Ames for softball last night and listened to In Utero. Damn that was a good album.

Agree Incesticide was an awesome album as well.

I'm right in the age range for Nirvana fans but never got into them growing up. Seems like people hated them or loved them - no in between.

touche. I can agree to that. I'm actually really weird because I loved some of their stuff and hated some of their stuff.

I loved Nirvana pretty much immediately when I heard them the first time which was when I was like 8. My older brothers and cousin got me into quality music early and I especially loved grunge. Was mainly drawn to how hard they rocked and Kurt's howling and wailing but they shot to a whole new level for me when I finally saw MTV Unplugged. Bought the DVD in college and I can't believe it still works to this day because I wore that thing out.

I got ahold of a bootleg copy on VHS from at a record store in Omaha. It's the only VHS I still own even though I no longer have a working VCR.

I still rank Big Long Now as one of my top Nirvana songs. I still remember walking into Musicland in North Grand Mall the day Incesticide was released and hearing that over their speakers as they played the whole album. Love that song. Funny thing about Nirvana/Musicland, I remeber the full size cardboard cutout of the InUtero lady standing at the entrance when that album was released too.

The poor youth of today will never really know what its like to peruse a music store. Sure there's still a couple of used album stores here and there, and sure Urban Outfitters sells albums, but it's not the same.

I won't miss paying $17.99 for a CD anymore though. Or however much they cost. Seems insane to pay that much now.

I was surprised to see that Drastic Plastic was still around in Omaha. I went there a ton in high school.
