I really think there's more parity in CFB these days than people think, people were writing this off as a gimme for Alabama. Sure OSU and Bama have been great but there's not some huge gap. Look at Michigan/FSU result after Michigan was a millimeter at worst from beating OSU.
Washington's pass defense and pass rush has been nearly impenetrable. The only point they've struggled with is Scarborough running.
Huskies don't seem to be in awe of Bama. That's a big part in playing well against them I think.

The pure physical size difference between the Alabama defensive players and Washington's offensive players is stark.
That's what happens when Alabama plays pro football while everyone ese is playing amateur football.
