Which guinness tour did you have tickets for? Looks like most are self-guided.
We did the Academy Tour where you learn to pour your own pint. The fella who taught us, Eoin, was great. You can sip it in the bar area.

There’s also an option where they put your photo into the foam in a different area. We didn’t book that one.

Your was self guided so you can flow through the exhibits at your own pace. There are videos and written descriptions on the walls. I think the Tunnels tour is probably guided.

Doing 2 nights in Iceland
3 nights Dublin
3 nights Dingle on Atlantic Coast
3 nights Galway
Return flight Shannon.

Icelandic Air? We were going to do the Iceland layover as well, until we found direct flights out of Minneapolis. A direct flight will be nice, but I won't lie, I was looking forward to Iceland. That's a place on my bucket list. Hope you enjoy it.
Nice, we also are flying Iceland Air out of MSP (I live in the twin cities). Kind of nice to break up the flight and let the family acclimate a little (traveling with a 9 year old and my 71 year old mom) before we hit the ground running in Ireland. Renting a cabin on the coast of the Keflavik peninsula (10 mins from the int'l airport) in Iceland for 3 nights.

3 nights in Iceland
2 nights in Doolin
2 nights in Dublin
2 nights in Bushmills
1 night in Dublin
Fly home

Try to catch a Trad music session at McGann’s in Doolin if you can. Food and pints were solid.

Also, locals said best fish and chips was at McDermott’s.

Also sorry as it’s unsolicited, but I’ll share. Clare has some incredible natural beauty and medieval history.

In Doolin (for kids) you could ride out to Caherconnell Fort and see a sheepdog demonstration plus a Celtic fortress that’s been excavated. The Burren in general looks like something from another planet. There’s the Aillwee Caves experience where you can do cheese making and see birds of prey. Doolin also has a chip & putt that looked fun.

You could drive to the coastal town of Lahinch as well. People will be surfing in the frigid waters. Hugo’s bakery is one of the best in the country.

I appreciate the tips! We're staying in a B&B thats a 5 minute walk from both McGann's and McDermott's and definitely picked the area for the music and food scene.

We are definitely doing a day drive through the Burren. We get into Dublin early in the morning and plan to do that on a scenic drive en route to Doolin. Thankfully since we'll have already been in Iceland for 4 days I'm hoping we're getting close to over the jetlag by that time.

We plan to do the Cliffs from Doolin as well either by walking from the town or driving a bit to the main public lot and walking from there.

Do you have any opinions on the Aran Islands? I'm thinking of doing one of those and trying to weigh the quick and easy option of Inisheer vs the more scenic but more difficult to get to from Doolin Inishmoore.

Nice! I have heard the Cliffs trail from Doolin is closed due to a storm, so I’d opt for the public lot. You get a nice view from the top of the stairs, and the visitors center is pretty cool. You could realistically knock that out in 30-45 mins.

My Irish buddy here said Innisheer is the way to go. They apparently offer a ticket that swings you close enough to the Cliffs to see them. Aran islands highly recommended, but we didn’t make it this trip.

McGanns and McDermotts are amazing for music. We went 20 years ago and we didn't make it there this time. There is five star destination dining in Doolin as well.
Clare is a wonderful county all of it.
Just spent 10 days in Ireland in the sunny southeast in Dungarvan, Cobh Cork in county Waterford then up to Dublin to pick up my son then out to Westport. Westport is a a bit of a hidden gem. and I feel a bit like guarding that secret :)
We stopped in Galway to watch Liverpool win the league at the Kings head large screen tv before we had to get to the airport to fly out. I managed to have seafood every single meal except one. oysters.jpg clams.jpg Theives.jpg rockshore.jpg

Anyone know when the tickets will be uploaded to ticketmaster app? I may have 1 extra to sell but at this point I'm not sure how to manage it.

I bought a hospitality package and it says hospitality invitations and Game Tickets will be issued 6-weeks pre-game.

We're taking the grandson on his trip before we get there. It's a land tour of Scotland and Ireland. We start in Edinburgh on the second, ferry from Glasgow to Belfast 6 days later, down the west coast and up the east coast to Dublin. We'll join @Messi 's group after we send the grandson home (he doesn't like football) and spend a couple of days on our own in Dublin. Fair warning, Messi - Spouse & I will have been together 24/7 for over 3 weeks by then. I make no promises on who will be alive and uninjured at that point. :D
After posting this, I started thinking "something ain't right"...
@Messi, are you doing the 3-city package? That's what we booked. When I saw your dates, I realized I had an issue. For some reason, I thought the tour ENDED in Dublin on the 24th, and I booked a flight out of there on the 25th. So now, we have 3-4 days between the land tour with the grandson and the ISU trip, and we have to make our way from Galway to Dublin to fly home. Whoopsies!

I checked with the private tour company someone mentioned upthread to see if they could fill in the gaps for us, but they are fully booked during that time. So we decided to rent a car and have several DIY days between Dublin and Kilkenny, then another car to take us from Galway to Dublin, stay the night & fly home on the 28th. Rebooking our flight home, we got a credit for our flights (Wed is cheaper than Mon), so that paid for the two car rentals and the hotel in Dublin, with a little left over. Bonus!!

I really need to learn to double, triple and quadruple check dates when I book stuff. :(

We just got back from a nice little trip for the Wife's 40th which include a week in Ireland. (3 nights in Galway, 2 in Kinsale, and 3 in Dublin). Will post more later, but spoke to a bartender at the Jameson tour and he suggested The Glimmer Man which is about a 10 min walk from the old factory. We went on Saturday afternoon when it was dead and had lots of space to check out all the stuff they have lining every wall. It was a neat place.

I believe that's 5p in Dublin for those going to the game.

It is 5pm indeed. I have to be in DC for a presentation Friday afternoon. Thinking hard about flying from DC to Dublin overnight and still making the game. The timing would work - 8:00 take off from DC Friday night puts me in Dublin at about 8:30 Saturday morning. Plus its like $550 round trip.
