I agree with the basic premise of the OP, but a long-winded, drawn out message board post isn't going to translate to the same success that Fry brought to Iowa. ISU is waiting for a Fry-like presence. When that guy shows up and resurrects the program, then Cyclone fans will respond accordingly.

As a fan from another Big 12 school I think ISU fans are pretty positive. Most schools will have some negativity when they have ISU's record over the last 3 years. The ISU friends I know still seem to feel the future is going to be better and that's a positive attitude.

It's fans like yoteforever that got us in the Mess. There expectations are completely CRAZY.

(6) bowl games in (7), that isn't good enough. Fire Coach MAC.

What, we win an NCAA tourney game, then have (1) losing Season. We must Fire Morgan.

Why is it always the fans that have to change? We go to game, we cheer, we want our teams to do well, we donate, we think our teams have a shot in most games. Negative posters on message boards are a slim miniority. Winning comes down to a change in culture with the teams as well, and that does take time. Orr changed it in BB, that was eroded and I feel it is now getting built back up. Mac changed the FB program, but it took time. FB is such a hard sport to stay on top in at any school and it is even harder, one player not panning out or leaving the team is hard to recover from.

I love coach Mac but his last season was mess. He didnt make good on the bowl years. He had his chance at a lifetime deal at ISU but forgot to finish games.

As for Morgan, there were other issues, to add to the the play on the court.

You weren't paying attention, obviously.

Nice post!

I think the BB team will be in the top half of the Big 12 this year, and likely for years to come even if Barnes doesn't come here. We're finally putting together a solid backcourt which is crucial to wins.

I don't have high hopes for the football season, but I still conclude that we have the right coach for the job. Good things should come in a couple years, maybe sooner.

Good post. You have been there and done it for a lot of years, more than many posters on this board have been alive.

Not enough people go to the games yet, ISU fans don't really have an identity, something thing that makes us stand out.
