Division 1 - Power 5
Division 1A - Group of 5
Division 1AA - FCS

All three divisions have their own national title. Division 1 schools can play 1 team from 1A and 1AA each season

I love this idea, with the way things are currently set up, a group of 5 team will never win a title (or make a playoff in normal circumstances). On what level of football outside of FBS (or any sport for that matter) are there that many teams that literally have zero shot for playing for a title?

Pretty much has to happen. Too much money and it needs to be run more like the huge business it is.

The only way that I would be in favor in this, is if it meant that players were able to be properly compensated. But it doesn't appear that is the goal of this concept. Since basketball would still be left under the purview of the NCAA that tells me that the institutions are just looking to consolidate power and distribute less money to smaller programs. All this would do is further stratify college athletics.

JTS massive upgrade has to be a huge part of it.

I still can't believe some of the shots on TV how much more big time it looks.

Even with a smaller crowd size this season it still gives the impression of a very involved fan base.

The new division would allow the Power Five to establish its own minimums for number of sports (currently at 16 per school)

What will the new division do? Drop the minimum number of sports way down (FB, MBB, baseball, and enough women's sports to satisfy Title IX), or crank the number of minimums up so only the really richy-rich can be part of the club?
