I am concerned about recruiting. Our class is 52. That is not good. Our hope is Campbell has guys that fit with want he wants to do. It is just that in general, schools that recruit that low do not sustain success.

Take this years class ranking with a grain of salt. Pandemic was screwy for a lot of kids that would’ve gotten a bump from camps, etc. but didn’t. This class has some dudes in it.

Isn’t Deckers a 4* QB? I think him and Bouman both were two of the highest graded QB’s we’ve gotten, and both were the same class.
Yes, if our recruiting class all had the avg rating on 247 as Dekkers, ISU would be around top 10-12 classes in the country.

I have to be honest that recruiting rankings is fun to look at, but I dont really care if ISU classes are #10 or #60. Higher than that, maybe. In fact if they are in 10-30 range I will follow closely to see if the highest ranked recruits actually fit ISU the way they need to for success to be achieved. Be careful what us as fans think is success in recruiting.

I disagree.
The recruiting rankings don’t increase overnight. I remember most years (and you recruiting junkies feel free to correct me if I’m wrong), but most years our classes ranked nationally in the mid-to-low 60’s and Big 12 rank was either 9th or last.
For 2022 we’re 6th in the B12 and getting into the low 50’s.

The big wins need to keep coming and the recruiting is, and will continue to improve over time. The state of our recruiting is not a concern for me. CMC has proven he can win NY6 games without flashy recruits.

Our biggest concern should be retaining CMC after we make the playoffs in 2021. I think every spare dime we can find between now and then should be put into a fund to pay our coaches as much as we possibly can. Keeping CMC is all that matters going forward.

Lol we have some ballers in this class. We also had what, 4 straight years of the best recruiting class in school history. How are you worried about recruiting?
