Bowl season is nearing, and the Big 12 has its work cut out.
  • Only WVU is favored, although maybe they should not be w/o Will Greer.
  • OU has the biggest challenge, +14 vs Alabama
  • TX is close behind, +11 vs Georgia
  • Only 2 games are played on the same day with the WVU / ISU double header Dec 28
  • 4 of the 7 games are, according to Athlon Sports, in the top 10 most watchable bowls
The odds makers predict the Big 12 will go 1-6 in bowls this year. I don't buy that for a minute, though. I am thinking 4-3. What do you predict?

Man,

First time I have looked at these games seriously.

To be honest, I could see the Big XII going O'fer.

My ranking of Big XII team winning from highest chance to lowest:

TCU over Cal
Baylor over Vandy
ISU over Wazu
Texas over Georgia
WVU over Syracuse
OSU over Mizzou
OU over Bama

From the KC Star, it appears OU has vast CFP support across Twitter nation, including far reaching places as Maine, Alaska, and Wisconsin. Clemson seems to be the least loved of the 4 teams though, with only South Carolina and Rhode Island.

For some reason I think OU will knock them off. Bama defense won't be able to stop their O one too many times.

@cycophagus mentioned Pete Mundo. I really like his podcast. Hes mentioned that Saban teams struggle (as much as a great dynasty like them can) against running athletic QBs.

Thought I would bump this thread with the first Big XII win on the books. (as ugly as it was)

Record: 1-0
ATS: 1-0
+/- vs Vegas: +4

Also with the WVU players not playing not a SINGLE Big XII team is favored to win their game. Talk about a crap slate of bowl games they've negotiated. Together we are a combined 46 point underdogs.

One thing I think people need to consider is, with Oklahoma making the playoffs, all big 12 teams got bumped up a bowl, so all teams are "lesser" compared to who they are playing. I think the big 12 has a chance to really do some damage tho and set the tone for how strong of a conference it really is! It would look really good if the big 12's #1 and #2 beat the SEC's #1 and #2.

Wouldn't SEC and ACC teams also get bumped?
