Kinda fun watching all 10 Chargers fans whine about how the refs screwed them all night on Twitter.

First, in what they’re calling “another example of the worst rule in the game. Excuse me - I didn’t realize the defense getting to keep the ball when they recover the ball in the endzone was the worst rule in the game.

Second, about how that wasn’t targeting and the league has become soft. Umm - that’s about as textbook of a targeting call as it gets… from TWO different Chargers players.

This guy was pretty good last year till he blew his knee out. Will see if he comes back close to the same player.

Refs absolutely blessed a call for that safety.
That's awful.

Need to change the rules on that one.

Entertaining watching Vikings fans on social media today. I 100% agree the missed facemask was beyond egregious - but it didn’t cost them the game. Had the facemask been called they still would have had to drive 80 yards with no timeouts just to get the opportunity to tie with a 2-pt conversion when they hadn’t shown all half they could get it in the end zone. I get that opportunity was taken from them and they have a right to be mad about that… but the game wasn’t stolen from them like they’re implying, either.

As a Vikings fan, I agree with this, as both points are likely correct. I believe the refs absolutely dropped the ball on that missed facemask call, especially when the league is emphasizing safety these days. I also don't believe the refs explanation of only seeing Darnold from behind was the reason he couldn't call it when the helmet was spun that far around. With all that, I have no doubt the Vikings would have found a way to blow it even if that facemask call was made accurately. The game would have ended with the same result.

Agree completely with this but they weren’t good all game either. 5 first down by penalties for the rams that game. Some of them were downright horrible.

What’s insane is the Lions are up 49-14 and have barely 200 yards of total offense (and a third of that came on one Jameer Gibbs run). What happens when you have short fields all day.

That's such an NFL thing too.

Turn the ball over and for the most part the opponent will max out on it.

Hopefully the Lions keep it going.
