SO Tech fans are saying this is justified because Adams didn't want to hold his scholarship on the books over the summer..
Wouldn't a players coach allow that and just promise a kid Shannon's spot once the summer class is over.... Am I giving this disgusting industry too much credit?

Shannon entered the portal, so Tech shouldn’t be obligated to hold onto his scholarship. If they did that mean one of their freshman or transfers that want to play there wouldn’t be able to get there in the summer. This is a fairly common occurrence in college athletics and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s more of a University thing than Adams. Also if it just a a matter of a few credits why doesn’t TJ get NIL money to pay for college or take a loan.

Recruits come on campus at the beginning of summer school. ISU's football, basketball, etc scholarship kids will be on campus whenever the June summer season starts. Every year we see ISU's WBB team show pictures of the girls arriving on campus. The NCAA pushed for this to acclimate student-athletes on campus/academic life before the start of Fall Semester.
This is the equivalent of Tyrese Hunter asking TJ to keep him on scholarship over the summer, prohibiting Bates from joining the team in June. Do you think Bates would still come to ISU or look elsewhere?
This isn't on TT, this is on Shannon. If he was thinking about transferring after semester, wouldn't the responsible thing been to have his academics in order after the Spring Semester. At a minimum he should be able to pay for his own summer school at Tech (assuming he is getting an NIL deal).
Also, I don't take Dickenson's Tweet for being gospel. It didn't take long for Shannon to end up at Illinois, so whatever the background is- it has been working itself out for days.

He averaged 2 points ppg two years ago. At STL. 4 ppg 3 years ago at STL. 9 ppg last year in juco. He'll prolly average like 3 ppg at WV.
