I do mock drafts every year so I will be posting my work as I go. I haven't started working on it just yet, but will be posting some things soon.

This site here has Cotton-Moya as an early 3rd round pick but didn't even have him getting drafted in any of their previous mocks. Did something happen that I am unaware of?

They have had Lazard going as high as the 3rd round and now have him going undrafted. I don't see that happening.

Wow, I would be pretty disappointed it Lazard goes undrafted. I think he's our best shot by far of having a draft pick this year.

He had a great Senior Bowl, so hopefully that helps a lot. Still have to wait and see on the combine and his 40 time. If he does nothing but run 40 yard dashes from now until the combine, I'd be ok with that.

The one that blows my mind is Simmie Cobbs being rated higher than Lazard. Almost identical size and scouting reports, but Cobbs in projected in the top 3 rounds almost universally. I have seen very little difference in their games, and Lazard has been way more productive consistently. Plus there are injury concerns with Cobbs, he missed an entire season for ankle surgery. I just don't see it. I am hoping Lazard is putting his entire life into offseason combine training so he can blow the rest of these guys out of the water.

Ankeny, IA.
They also have Campos sneaking in there at Round 7.

I think it's switched around with the KCM prediction. Think Lazard 3rd, 4th or 5th round, with Lanning, KCM, and Campos as possible 6th or 7th round guys (likely UDFA for them).

Cobbs is a Junior. Maybe they see more potential from him? I would also think the ankle injury would put AL ahead though.

I could see that if he truely was a year behind Allen, but the only reason he is a jr is because he had a medical redshirt year for his surgery. He is the same age as Lazard.

Ok, I didn't think of that.

Maybe they are seeing more speed from him on tape than from AL? No idea.

I wasn't intending to offend, just offering more info. I have nothing to offer as far as why they would be rated differently, it just shocks me. Could honestly be a perception thing, the people that do the rankings may still be laboring under the impression that the big 10 has superior defenses to the big 12 and thats why cobbs number look good as opposed to lazards, the old "strength of competition" arguement. Not that its true, just could be what is influencing it.

Oh if I'm OFFENDED, I'll let you know!!!

Not offended at all. I just didn't realize he was a RS Jr. Thanks for the info.

DailyNorseman database of mocks has 40% of them saying the Vikes will take an OL. No surprise there.
Hernadez, Price, and McGlinchey are guys listed 1,2,3 as their first round choice.

Yeah I was just taking notice on the decrease of recognition of Allen through this process, ran a faster than expected 40 at the combine, did nothing wrong at the proDay yet some Mock have him late round or not at all???? Super crazy!!!

Yeah I have been trying to figure this out for a while. Its infuriatiing to no end, I just hope he ends up somewhere that has a good qb and needs a 2nd or 3rd receiver because I think he will be a good receiver at the next level. His athletic comp for current players is Mike Evans (nearly identical), I don't expect him to be that good right away but with the right team he will find success. Put him on one of the contenders as number 2 or 3 option and he will be succesful. Honestly I expect him to end up in one of the NFC north rosters, or with the Chiefs or Broncos. No real reason why, just a gut feeling.

The optimist in me wonders if there are several teams that absolutely love him and they're trying to keep it quiet so he's still on the board for them in the third or foruth round.

Otherwise I have no answer to explain the lack of buzz around him, other than the history of the program he's coming from. Jersey bias is real, like it or not. I'll be delighted if he goes to the Colts in any round.
