I agree it hasn't been in many years but there was some tremendous athletes to come out of Waterloo. Glad to see another Waterloo kid coming to Ames.

Any kid with talent in Waterloo goes to CF now days.
I know an athletic spider named Dale from Waterloo

I'm gonna say Dom DeLira has something to say about that

We'll see. Fit in the system will come into play. I was under the impression that DeLira was recruited for the Mangino offense. And maybe the new staff decides to move DLC back to QB. Or maybe they've recruited Moore for a different position once he gets on campus. Lots of unknowns at the QB position behind Lanning.

A guy in my office mentioned him to me a few weeks back, his son played against him. He said Moore looked like Michael Vick - athletic left handed kid with appeared to snap the ball like Vick.

Have him redshirt Lanning's senior season then become a 4 year starter

Let's not do the Michael Vick comparison thing.

Speaking of qb, is Rohach a senior or junior?

Junior. He's not going to play next year. Lannings our guy.

Rohach will be a serviceable backup if Joel goes down. I'd like to see us go back to having a backup QB cover holding duties, like Bueker did (now that Fischer is done; read somewhere that he'd be transferring out to finish his baseball eligibility somewhere... oddly enough, saw another holder imitating Austin's style/celebration in one of the Sat night games last week...) That bad pass by the holder in the kNU game in 2010 still haunts me!

Back on topic - Welcome Devon!

Wow- didn't think the joke was that complicated. They're two different people with almost identical names. DEVRON committed to Paul Rhoads but got homesick. Went home, came back as a walk-on, then went home again. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the name. They even look kinda similar.

Your joke was bad

And you should feel bad

Take a lap around the practice field!

I have seen him play a couple times....my thoughts:

Throws a good ball - good strength and accuracy
Quick Release
Excellent Size
Good pocket presence
Better athlete than most are giving him credit for - he had a leg/ankle injury early this year and it may have hampered his ability to scramble the rest of the year.

I think he is a great find and fits the "Lanning system" well.

Time will tell. I think Lanning showed enough this season that it'll be his job to lose going into spring practice, but maybe one of the guys behind him will prove to be a better fit for whatever offense Campbell installs. I'm curious to see what the depth chart will look like by the start of next season. I would guess that outside of a handful of spots on either side of the ball there's going to be a healthy competition to earn a starter role.

But back on topic - welcome to the program, Devon!

Seeing as Rhoads' staff was trying to recruit over Lanning with a juco, that remains to be seen

I don't think Rohach beats out Lanning next year though.

Way up there
I'm gonna say Dom DeLira has something to say about that

I don't think he'll be a factor, Mangino was the guy that hyped him, DeLira didn't even start in high school. He sat behind a Charlie Brewer a sophomore (younger brother of former Texas Tech current Va Tech qb)
