Carter, Ernst, Young and Lard, looking at the roster I would think we're going to need 40-50 minutes out of this group.
What are the feelings on how this will breakdown?

Good question. I would venture to guess Young will get the lions share of the minutes (20 min), along with Ernst (10 min), and Lard and Carter rounding it out with 5 minutes a piece.

What? Why do you think Young will get so many? I would think Carter would get a bigger share of minutes than that being that he is a year older. Haven't seen any of them enough to project though.

I look at Carter this way, I know he'll have another year of experience but this year's team is better the more they can keep Nader on the wing and Niang not guarding the 5. So if Carter (or I guess Ernst as well) are expected to start next season one of them should be filling the minutes when McKay sits as we move into conference play.

A lot of big names gone next year:

OU - Hield, Spangler, Cousins
Baylor - Prince, Gathers
OSU - Forte
KU - Ellis, Traylor, Diallo (though they're still stacked)
Texas - Ridley, Felix, Lammert

Looks like there will be quite a few teams going through re-builds next year.

I thought KU's Mason III had to be done after this year. Oh well, at least KU's bigs will be green.

So if Monte stays do people think Donovan Jackson still makes it to campus? I personally don't because I'm not sure where his minutes would come from?

PG
Monte-35 mpg

SG
Cooke-25 mpg
Thomas-15 mpg

SF
Naz-30 mpg
Thomas 10 mpg

PF
Burton-30 mpg

If he's the player I think he is, there would be minutes for him. Certainly in a three guard lineup, which seems likely.

Who's minutes is he taking away then?

Sounds like from the podcast, CW thinks he'd be starting with Monte, Throw Naz at the 3, Thomas as the 6th man in for Naz with Cooke coming in for Jackson, and then Jackson would be able to give monte a breather too. One reason Monte plays almost 40 mins is because we don't have a backup PG.

I don't often post in these threads, but found this, I assume it fits the topic.
