I can see it. It's a bad year to have the #1 pick and KC is in serious need of a QB.
Chiefs fan here. Best case scenario is to trade back to the 10-12 area. I think they absolutely have to draft a QB. I can't remember the stat but they haven't drafted a QB out of college in a ridiculous amount of years. If they don't go QB it may get ugly. All depends on who takes over the management of this team.
2011...
My, how Matt Barkley has fallen...
Chiefs should try to get Alex Smith in exchange for their other three qbs.:twitcy:The Chiefs should trade back to acquire a few more picks. They really need a QB, but they could probably use some linemen as well. But, with how weak this years draft is, I'm not sure how many teams will want the first pick.

I may be dating myself here, but I believe the last time the Chiefs drafted a QB in the 1st round was 1983. They selected Todd Blackledge over the likes of Jim Kelly and Dan Marino. John Elway was the #1 overall pick that year to the Colts, whom he refused to play for.
True. And that was the last time the Chiefs drafted a QB in the first. The fans are clamoring for a 1st rd QB, but this is not the year to draft it no 1 over all. I say best available then QB rd 2 and get Alex Smith for insurance. Or at least give the Cardinals a call to try to move back and let them have Geno.
