Austin Gomez is ranked #1 at 120 and is a junior

Penn State and Iowa State are the only 2 schools with 2 #1's committed to them.

Good job to the coaches.

And this class only has Earl Hall and Tanner Weatherman graduating as starters.

Next year we have Kyle Larson, John Meeks, Gabe Moreno, Lelund Weatherspoon, and Quean Smith graduating, in addition to many others in the room

Thanks Buf, but how are we signing so many guys if we only have two spots/graduating seniors. I know someone said that some are getting academic scholarships but isn't there a limit to how many guys you can have on the team?

Edit: Well I guess I see that Gomez is only a Junior so that explains some.

Smart kids getting academic money, so we don't use as much athletic money. I THINK Parker, Storr and Colbray are all getting academic money in addition the athletic money

Parker was looking at Columbia, I heard and Colbray was looking at Cornell.

Coach Jackson says he has everything he needs to win. I think he finally has recruiting connections and guys that can sell Iowa State (in TP1 and TP2). I have heard of some names that we are recruiting and they are big time. If we can continue to land a few like they did this year, we will continue to get better.

David Carr, Gable Steveson, Roman Bravo-Young, Austin O'Conner, Marcus Coleman, Chase Schiltz, Jarod Verkleeren, Kaden Gfeller, Brady Berge and many other.

Getting that program back where everyone wants it. Coach Jackson deserves a lot of credit, it hasn't been easy for him. There's still more work to be done on the mats.

Congrat's to KJ who has put the best recruiting class at ISU since 2010 and that class was ranked #6:

Like rival Iowa, the Cyclones were hit hard by graduation in 2010 losing six starters. This group of six top 150 recruits may be pressed into duty sooner rather than later. Ryak Finch, the top 119lber in the nation, comes to Ames after winning Junior Freestyle and Greco-Roman titles last summer in Fargo. Three in-state prospects (Mike England, Michael Moreno, and Kyven Gadson) bring much needed help to the upper weights. Last but not least, is Four-Time Florida State Champ Joey Cozart, who spent his high school years wrestling for the legendary Brandon program.

After a couple of down seasons there are two huge reasons to be optimisic in Cycloneland. The first is the #2 overall recruit from last season Destin McCauley, who spent the last year training at the OTC. McCauley dominated the field this Spring en route to a FILA Junior National Freestyle Title pinning 2012 All-American Hunter Stieber and defeating 2012's top recruit Jason Tsirtsis. The second huge recruit for Iowa State is 4x undefeated Iowa HS Champion John Meeks. Gabe Moreno, like Meeks finished 6th last summer at Freestyle in Fargo. The rest of ISU's recruits have the potential to make this a special class if they develop.

The Hawkeyes continue to bring in top notch talent, while filling potential holes at the same time. One of either Gilman or Clark should be able to take over at 125 after a redshirt season and the departure of Matt McDonough. Both Brooks and Burak have the potential to fit in at the always difficult to fill, 197lb class. After a redshirt, Nate Skonieczny may finally be the 149lber that Iowa has been looking for since the graduation of Brent Metcalf in 2010. 174lb recruit Alex Meyer had his stock rise as much as anyone nationally over the course of his HS Senior season. Overall, the Hawkeyes coaching staff has put the team in position to continue to contend for a National Championship every year with recruiting classes like this.

Good recruits. Wonder what weight Gomez will be. Per Intermat he is now the #6 ranked wrestler at 132. Hopefully the coaches have a plan because we don't seem to have anyone to take over for Larson after next year. Boston and Simmons certainly can't make the cut. Doubt Parker could.

I am guessing Parker is the plan right now.

133 - seems to be Boston and Simmons next year
141 - Meeks and finally redshirt Dante and Storr
149 - Gabe

I would think Dante eventually moves to 149 his last year, assuming he redshirt next year.

This is great. Where are Storr, Parker and Colbray ranked overall? I assume Colbray is around 25 and the other 2 are in the 70-90 range.
