17.1, 17.2, 13.1, 13.2 OTA...WTF?

Ok...So 13 and 17 did the switchover last night. I have DirecTV with an OTA antenna plugged in. I, of course, still get the digital channels through DTV, but I no longer receive them via my OTA antenna. WTF?

I still get ABC, CBS, and PBS OTA digitals, but they have made the switch yet (complying with delay).

I thought I read somewhere that when the switch was made that the OTA signal type was going to change and it might be a problem if you don't have the right type of antenna.

Anyone know anything about this? Is anyone with DirecTV and and OTA antenna going through the DTV box still getting the digitals for NBC and FOX via the antenna?

Just to clarify, I have a HDTV Ready television so I can't hook the antenna directly to the TV and get the digitals. The antenna goes through my HD DVR.

Reboot your tuner so it can rescan. I will check my HR21s out when I get home.

It will make the difference if their permanent HD channels are on different frequencies than the transition channels were on...

I thought we went through this with the OSU - ISU FB game for 5.2. The DTV HR boxes do not reall "scan" the frequencies...they poll from a database of channels that is kept by some 3rd party that DTV contracts.

Anyone remember this discussion?

I haven't looked at my OTA channels yet since the switch but figured that since I am using the tuner built in to my TV I should be fine...

Our Directv receiver still doesn't get 13-2 after a rescan. The tv that we are using the built in tuner had to be rescanned, too, to get the new stations even though we were getting them before.

what's with these 13.1 and 13.2 channels? I have directv so should I be getting more channels?

This is the biggest debacle since Ma Bell switched away from the rotary dial.
