How long do you have for story time of men through the ages thinking with their wrong head? He’s a little old to be screwing up like that but he’s not the first and certainly won’t be the last.
Which heavyweights can keep it close with bastida? If he can figure out a way to stay healthy I see a pretty clear path to the finals unless someone takes a huge leap. I have to think he’s a heavy favorite at the weight.
I hope he stays healthy but I certainly wouldn’t want to see him high AA right after leaving our program. It’s cool if he puts it together his last year of wrestling collegiately
That’s odd. They already said they are load managing Elam. Why not learn from an AA and get a handful of matches and try to get the job after that. Must figure he’s not cut out for 197.
I mean the guy deserves at least one year… he defected from Cuba rather than casually coming to America like Ono for PSU who is going to get multiple years of eligibility. Like I said, threaten to sue the NCAA and he’ll get a year or 2.
This is the problem I read about. The rich teams can stash an incoming freshman on their RTC and pay him 50-100k to go to school and train. If they notice he’s a stud then they’ll push out someone on the 30 man the next year who was worse. That’s why I said the only way this roster limitation...
I know there’s going to be loopholes with the roster limits of 30 but couldn’t the ncaa cut out all the BS and make the sport more fair my making the RTCs for post grads and Olympic year undergrads only? Then have a strict limit of 30 college wrestlers and the wrestlers will naturally spread out.
My prayer is David wins a gold medal at the next Olympics and gets several 1st place medals in competitions leading up to it and wants to be our head coach after 2028. We need some good luck eventually with a coach that wants to be here long term
I’m with you. Go there and try to be the man for a year, maybe 2 then go wrestle for 3 years and AA. Bearclaw got 3rd? And he spent all of his eligibility there except this one year.
Whatever we pay him it needs to be backloaded. Get him some walking around money up front and then right after ncaas he gets the other 95%. Hopefully the carrot on the stick keeps him in check.
