Not sure that you could properly end a really good series like that without the main character in a shortened season.
As soon as they started fighting I said to my wife that Rip was going to show up in the middle......which I am sure everyone expected.
Jimmy and Teeter are there. That's enough connection to start it if they go that way.
The Madison and the last season of 1923 come first.
i only cared about casey and rip. the series ended perfect for casey. Rip was good enough, but i assume they wanted to leave rip open for his spin off.

The graveyard scene was weird to me. Mo yells at the kids that were tipping over the gravestones and tells them to leave. Then he goes about standing them up by himself? Outside of the scene feeling really forced with cheesy dialogue, why wouldn't he have the little brats stand them back up?
My wife pointed out that when have we ever seen Monica help drive cattle before then? Did she all the sudden get the urge to start ranching now after spending this whole time trying to get away from the ranch? Also I am not surprised that Taylor had to find 1 last way to get his character into this show to stroke his ego some more.
I never quite know how I prefer my endings to shows like this. This one almost seemed too buttoned up and it was totally predictable. You knew this is where things were headed. But on the flip side you have something like, say, the Sopranos where you never got a full resolution and that sucks too.
Yeah, I guess I'm OK with the ending as most of the storylines while predictable and maybe a bit rushed for endings at least didn't leave me with a big cliffhanger that we'll never know what happened next. That was the case for me with the TV show Cane that got canceled after 1 season. I thought it was a pretty good show and they left a huge cliffhanger on the final episode as if they hadn't planned for the show to be canceled and were expecting a season 2. Then you have another show that is one of my Favorites in Friday Night Lights that did a great job wrapping up that series, kind of the same thing with Parenthood too when they ended that show. Another 1 season only show I liked was Blood & Oil staring Don Johnson and they kinda rushed to some predicable endings as they were still filming the end of the show when they decided to cancel it I think.
My wife and I really enjoyed Yellowstone. We will miss watching it. The ending was fine. It wrapped everything up for the most part. My only criticism would be that it did seem a little rushed at the end.
Was it though? Beth had been wanting to kill him for a LONG time. Ever since Jamie had a kid.

I thought for sure we'd see something about a Beth and Rip spinoff or even a 6666 Ranch series before we would see one with Kayce. I like the potential with this spinoff though.

The Beth/Rip spinoff is called 'Dutton Ranch' and is supposed to start this fall/winter. It's already in production.
Taylor Sheridan is the only thing keeping Paramount viable.
