I was at that game too. Freezing cold night, but it was well worth being there to watch that run in person.
Are you sure? Weather history for Ames said weather was H61 L37 for Oct 12, 2002.

That wouldn't even crack the Top 10 coldest games I've been.

A more recent Red Raider/Cyclone game in 2022 was way worse for example (22 degrees)

I remember freezing at the game. Not sure what the temperature was.

We sat in now student section. It so cool to watch it now as it was to see it live. We went on the field and did grass angels after the game.

Was at that game as well. Entire stadium was yelling for Seneca to "throw it away" when he went back to the 30 yard line. Great block by Wagner, and everyone saw it coming as well. That block unfortunately would be considered an illegal blind side block today.

But I think I heard they estimated Seneca ran about 130 yards for a 12 yard touchdown run and the play lasted 17 seconds. Absolutely absurd data for a short 12 yard gain
